Idaho Pasture Pigs
Where do we start? We LOVE our Idaho Pasture Pigs. This breed was developed with homesteading in mind. They are a mix of Kune Kune for the fabulous and friendly temperament and Duroc and Berkshire for the faster growth rate and high quality meat. They are a grazing pig which means that they require less grain and they don’t tear up the land which was a huge bonus for us. They are a medium sized pig (breed stock boars are approximately 450 lbs and sows are generally around 350 lbs) and reach butcher weight of approximately 275 lbs in about 10-11 months. Please contact us for more info….we love to talk about our pigs!
Colorado Mountain Dogs
Our Colorado Mountain Dogs are livestock guardian dogs that were also developed with the small acreage/homestead in mind. This is also a newer breed and are intended to be dogs which tend to wander and bark less than other livestock guardian breeds, and which accept unknown humans easily and without suspicion or hostility.
Chickens, Ducks, Turkeys and Guinea Fowl!
Chickens - We have a flock of laying hens, a couple beautiful (and very lucky Roosters!), and raise cornish cross meat chickens (meat chickens only available seasonally)
The laying hens produce wonderful, free range, yummy eggs and the meat from the cornish cross chickens is very juicy and tasty.
We also have ducks, heritage turkeys, and guinea fowl which allows us to seasonally offer duck eggs, guinea eggs, turkey eggs, and Thanksgiving turkeys.
